Xtrema Ceramic Cookware - Giveaway

What is Green?

Green is making a positive environmental impact with clear earth friendly defined objectives. A Green product must be non-toxic, ecological sound, environment-friendly, free of heavy metals, ozone-friendly, and pollution free.

This statement from Xtrema Cookware sums it all up neatly I think. Green cookware is becoming more and more popular and I was intrigued to try it. Being a huge fan of my grandma's old cast iron skillet (yes I still have it and will never stop making cornbread in it lol) I wondered if there would ever be something else out there that could rival it in my kitchen!

Xtrema Cookware sent me two items to try: The 10" skillet10" skillet and the 3 pc Tea Set and the 3 pc Tea Set. Made with natural minerals from the Earth's crust, this amazing cookware is non-reactive and 100% non-toxic. The ceramic materials retain heat longer and I found more evenly than conventional cookware.

I tried eggs in my skillet the first time I used it knowing that was the ultimate test for me. It was hard for me to wait for the skillet to warm up - it did take a little longer than thinner metal pans to heat up - because I was so excited about using it! Scrambled eggs cooked quickly and evenly and there was absolutely NO mess in the pan when I was done, making cleanup a breeze! So next I had to try some over easy eggs and see if it did as well with that and I'm pleased to say that those eggs turned out picture perfect (but I forgot to take a picture lol)

I even roasted a chicken in the oven using my skillet! What a versatile piece of cookware this is.

The Tea Set was perfect for me. Holding 20 ounces, the potle kept my tea piping hot all the way to my office one morning! I love the porcelain mug and the tea infuser means I can use any tea leaves that I want!

Xtrema Cookware is generously offering my readers a 10% discount on any purchases during this promotion - use discount code ssx10 to get your discount! Believe me you won't be disappointed in this cookware/bakeware/teaware!

Angelina Organic Skincare

As I age I'm continually on the lookout for Skincare that's good for my body as well as the environment. Living in Arizona, I have extremely dry skin and I don't want to look like some of the women down here with "leather" skin from all the damage from the sun, wind and pollution.

Angelina Organic Skincare products are a wonderful solution to my dry skin and my concern for the environment. I received two products from Angelina Organic Skincare to try: Skin Doctor and Nourishing Herbal Face Cream

The Nourishing Herbal Face Cream was like a refreshing tall drink of water on a hot day - my skin instantly felt hydrated and rejuvenated when I rubbed this luxurious feeling cream on my face. Non-oily and made with the finest ingredients nature has to give, this cream also has a natural mineral sunscreen in it so I know I'm doing the best I can for my skin with this!

Wearing sandals almost constantly has left my feet dry and cracked, especially the heels. Skin Doctor balm is truly just what the doctor ordered! After the first application I noticed a marked improvement in the dryness of my heels. After 3 applications, my feet were as soft and smooth as my 6 year old daughters! This is truly a must have for perfect summer feet!

WIN!!!

I have a bottle of Radiance Serum to give to one lucky reader! This wonderful serum contains concentrated botanical extracts, healing essential oils and antioxidants that will soak into your deeper skin layers to repair environmental damage and help bring back that youthful glow. To enter, visit Angelina Organic Skincare and post a comment telling me another one of their products you would like to try.

Prima Pricessa presents The Nutcracker DVD

When Sierra isn't busy being a cowgirl or a biker chick, she's totally in touch with her inner princess so I jumped at the chance to review the DVD The Nutcracker from Prima Princessa. It was a joy to watch the San Francisco Ballet perform excerpts from The Nutcracker which as always been MY favorite ballet :) And the best part is that between acts, your little ballerina is encouraged to get up on her toes and interact with the students from the School of American Ballet, learning real dance steps!

Sierra was enthralled by the performance and even more excited to be able to get up and dance as well. This has quickly become a favorite DVD in our home!

This holiday classic is sure to delight your little princess and at only 11.49 on Amazon.com it's the perfect stocking stuffer!

Bed Bouquet™ Giveaway

I love fresh smelling sheets - I'd wash and line dry my sheets daily if I could to retain that amazing fresh smell. But now thanks to Bed Bouquet™ I don't have to do that. Bed Bouquet™ is a small apparatus that you slip under your sheets to keep them smelling fresh. Unlike powders or sprays you do not have to re-apply Bed Bouquet™ and because of it's slim design, you will never feel it under your sheets.

Simply peel off the cover on the back and stick the adhesive to your mattress or mattress pad and cover with your sheet. I found that this worked best at the top of the mattress between the pillows. This allowed both DH and I to enjoy the Fresh Linen fragrance. I put the citrus one on Sierra's bed and she too enjoyed the wonderful, but not overpowering aroma.

I'm a firm believer in the power of aromatherapy and will probably order this product again in the lavender for Sierra's bed as she is so calmed by that fragrance. I'm more of a "fresh" smells person so the Fresh Linen was a perfect fit for me. After a week, my sheets smelled as good as the day I took them off the clothesline and put them on my bed!

WIN!!!!

Bed Bouquet™ is giving 2 of my readers a chance to win 2 Bed Bouquets each! To enter, visit Bed Bouquet™ and tell me which fragrance you think you would like to try! For additional entries you can:

~ Follow me on twitter @somethingsnappy and tweet about this (daily if you like for even more entries!)

A Broom with a View

I've always loved Halloween - I think mostly it's the season that does it for me - there's just something about Autumn. So I was ticked to be asked to review Kristen Lawrence's Halloween Carols CD, a wonderful collection of music written just for this holiday. Sierra and I were so excited to put this in and listen to it while driving across town and she was so enthralled that when we arrived at our destination she didn't want to get out of the van, but wanted to sit and listen to more! :)

Kristen Lawrence is a very gifted musician/composer and having played the organ for many years myself I was very appreciative of her talent and hard work that went into this collection. To me, it is a combination of classical, rock and some folk thrown in for flavor. Honestly this is a CD that I will probably listen to year round!

I'm even more thrilled to be able to offer one of my readers the chance to win their very own copy of Kristen's Halloween Carols! To enter post a comment telling me what your favorite Halloween memory is. For additional entries you can:

~ Blog about this contest and post the link
~ Follow my blog or subscribe to my feed
~ Fave me on technorati
~ Follow me on Twitter @SomethingSnappy and Tweet (you can tweet daily)

Family Fun Night Just Got More Exciting!

I really love the time that I get to spend with my family. We really don't get enough of it with my long work hours, so when we do get evenings together we like to find fun things to do that don't involve sitting in front of the TV!

Rummino! is a new game from Marina Games and it puts a whole new spin on rummy! Sierra doesn't like to play cards much yet as her little hands have a harder time holding them but she dove right in to Rummino! and was a master in no time! The game is recommended for children 8 and over but Sierra had no issues with understanding the concept and the numbers and letters on the tiles so I think kids even younger could play this with no problems. And dh and I have found that we can really get cutthroat playing it by ourselves - it's a great strategic game for all levels!

So if you are looking for something to add to your Family's game night be sure to check out Rummino!

Smuckers Uncrustables

Nothing like a PB&J sandwich! I could eat them all day long some days lol. My dh is a huge fan of anything with jelly in it so I knew he'd be excited about Smuckers Uncrustables! My daughter won't touch jelly with a 10 foot pole so this box of goodies was all for HIM! He was pretty skeptical at first, thinking yeah so it's PB&J that's been frozen, this can't be good.

He was pleasantly surprised by the softness of the whole wheat bread and the flavor of the peanut butter and jelly. It was great to throw in his lunch box and it helped keep everything else cold while it thawed and by lunchtime it was perfectly thawed. He especially likes that it's a "pocket" keeping the jelly from squirting out the opposite end when he takes a bite.

This is not something that I would purchase on a normal basis but it's a great treat and works great for those times when you need to pack a lunch!

This post was written for Mom Central in association with the Smuckers Uncrustables blog tour and they sent me a gift card for my participation.
